This full stock, flintlock rifle was made in the style of Henry Derringer of Philadelphia, PA. Derringer was heavily involved in the Indian gun trade in the 1820s and 1830s. The rifle is brass mounted and has an eagle headed, engraved patch box. The wrist and cheek piece have engraved silver inlays. The lock is a copy of a Derringer lock and is stamped "J S Brooks" on the lock plate. The barrel is also stamped "J S Brooks". The rifle has been artificially aged and the stock is decorated with brass tacks.
